Vietnam's industrial parks are distributed all over the country, concentrated in the three administrative regions of the north, the middle and the south. Each region has its own development characteristics and unique incentive schemes.

northern region

The northern region consists of 25 provinces, of which 7 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Haiphong, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Xing An, Yong Phuc, and Quang Ninh are key special economic zones.

The total land area is 18,900 square kilometers. The main industries are computers, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment, assembly metal parts and products, plastic products, chemicals and products, etc.

The region's proximity to the Chinese border has attracted a large number of companies that maintain operations in China but wish to shift manufacturing to Vietnam as part of the "China + 1" strategy.

Middle Region

The key special economic zones in the central region are mainly composed of 5 provinces, namely Chengtian Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh. The main commercial activities are distributed near Da Nang.

The total land area is 17,600 square kilometers. The main industries are food processing, metal products, other non-metal products, paper products, forestry products, and plastic products.

southern region

The key special economic zones in the southern region are mainly composed of 8 provinces and cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, and Tien Giang. With Ho Chi Minh City as the center, this area is the most active economic area in the country and is known as the industrial center. The good investment environment has attracted the most direct investment from foreign companies.

The existing industries are mainly machinery and equipment, textiles and clothing, metal products, rubber and plastic products, chemicals and products, food processing, etc.

For companies that need to import goods from China, the north is a better choice for them. The advantage of the south lies in its proximity to Vietnam's largest commercial port, and its proximity to key locations such as airports, seaports, major highways, and borders.
